MacBook Pro Penryn update imminent (updated)

Update: I really wish that Apple would have built Penryn into the MacBook Air, but George Ou speculates that Penryn was probably still an unknown quantity when the MBA was being designed many moons ago.

Update 2: According to AI Penryn increases battery performance by as much as 16 percent and encoding operations by as much 40 percent.

Lost Odyssey

Generations have floated by, and answers have still not been found on what makes the perfect balance of innovation. If a game attempts too much, it derives fans of the genre. Contrarily, said title won’t appeal to the general audience if its cards are safely played by refusing to reach for anything refreshing. So where does Mistwalker’s latest role-playing game Lost Odyssey land? The answer may only be found within the rich story experience itself, but does the old-fashioned gameplay mechanics and minor technical issues prevent this bubble from bursting? In Lost Odyssey you play as Kaim Argonar, an unexpressed one thousand-year-old immortal and longtime adventurous mercenary who has a captivating, yet unknown past. He’s introduced by shown fighting against the army of Gohtza, for the under whelming force that is Uhra.

Five minutes with the participants of the annual Yanks vs. Canucks ...

Question. Whered the idea come from?

Jim. We had a whole group from Cleveland coming down and a whole group we knew from Ontario. We thought we needed to get them to interact. So, we thought: golf tournament. We wrote the rules the first year, so we did little things to get a mental edge. Wrote Canucks with a K. Stuff like that.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Bad News For T.I., Nas/Jay-Z Fans, Ras Kass and Bill O ...

Dre, we have to talk about it. Anyway, the good doctor – according to my sources - is in the studio with Scott Storch working on his long-awaited Detox album. Sources have learned that the West Coast based-producer who rarely travels is now in Miami to record with Storch. Dre and Storch's last collaboration was in 2001.

Will 'Amnesty' Sink McCain?

The perennial controversy over what to call McCain's amnesty is silly. Every program in the world that has allowed illegal immigrants to stay has been called an "amnesty." McCain himself called it "amnesty" as recently as May 2003, when he told the Tucson Citizen "I think we can set up a program where amnesty is extended to a certain number of people who are eligible … Amnesty has to be an important part ..." But once the focus-group results were in, "amnesty" became a four-letter word. ...[snip]

Real Straight Talk would be to say "Sure, it's an amnesty, but we don't really have any choice" ...

P.S.: The McCain, post-focus-group argument is that it can't be "amnesty" if it has some requirements--e.g., to pay a fine, learn English, etc. But it turns out that Ronald Reagan's 1986 "comprehensive" reform, which he and everyone else called an "amnesty," had requirements too, including payment of fees.

Dining, drinking choices reflect SW Valley's diversity

The Super Bowl is behind us and the tens of thousands of visitors who came to Arizona for the excitement have returned to their homes with a positive impression of the Valley. Glendale's success with the Super Bowl affects us all. Another thing that affects all of us is the wonderful diversity of businesses in the Southwest Valley. The Cracker Barrel Restaurant takes patrons back to the days of the old-fashioned country store and family-style restaurant. On your way to be seated, you make your way through the country store where you can find products ranging from candy bars to rocking chairs. The food is homestyle, prepared from scratch in their kitchen. .

Prices rise on four fronts

A friend of mine from the UK, says that the Uk has the title Rip off Britain, yet food, cars, houses and general good including computers, and all other electrical goods are cheaper than Australia. So why is this? Greed. You hear that stores increase value by up to 300%, why this rip off. Petrol in some parts of Brisbane are higher than Sydney. House prices in Brisbane are over valued by at least 100,000 dollars and yet Real Estate agents keep on ripping us off. Healh insurance going up, petrol rises and greed greed greed. Banks in Australia and New Zealand are the onlt first world countries who charge ATM fees.
